My new acrylic landscape painting is: Sunrise Shadows

My new acrylic landscape painting is ‘Sunrise Shadows’ which continues my latest series of sunrises and sunsets concentrating on the light and colour at those times of the day.

There is just the right amount of colour and light in this painting for an uplifting sunrise.

As with some of my recent paintings I used a lot of dry brushwork on top of existing paint as it clings on to the texture below.

I did enjoy painting the touches of detail on the horizon as a focal point, all the yellow tones, ochres and pale greens in the foreground and then all those gorgeous blue tones as the light ascends into the sky and the lower clouds cling on to the horizon.

This painting would blend with any room colour decor.
