My small paintings on handmade paper have a freedom in the brushstrokes and colour I use. Quite often if a larger painting hits a creative block I inspire myself with some smaller ‘free’ studies.

This impressionist landscape painting was inspired by a visit to the Yorkshire Moors with the colours and light bouncing among the heathers. Cold Sunset has a lot blending with a subdued colour palette and a strong atmosphere of shadow and light.

‘Rustic Breeze’ has a simplicity and spontaneous feel in an abstract style with a bold brushstrokes and touches of vibrant colours reflecting the light and atmosphere of Springtime.
