My latest paintings are deeply inspired by the gentle oncoming of Spring light, capturing the rich colours, delicate shadows, and varied textures of the landscape during this most beautiful and evocative time of year.

This new body of work is particularly focused on capturing the subtle and shifting qualities of recent skies during both the morning and evening hours. As well as the seasonal changes the clocks are about to change which combine together make for longer evenings and the sunshine (if we get any!) create great differences in the strength and intensity of the light.

I have always been deeply drawn to the way light falls and changes at different times of the day, as well as the unique and varied colours present not only in the sky but also reflected across the landscape. Whether it is the soft hues of an early morning sunrise or the rich, fading tones of the sunset at the end of the day as the light gradually disappears, these moments offer endless inspiration.

My passion lies in capturing that perfect sunrise or sunset, preserving that fleeting moment in time. I strive to depict the delicate interplay of shadows cast by the light and the subtle movement of the ever-evolving colours as they shift across the sky.

These acrylic paintings, available in various sizes, showcase a harmonious blend of a semi-abstract style, particularly evident in my smaller works, combined with a subtle touch of impressionist blending that becomes more prominent, especially in the larger pieces.
