This new painting ‘Sunset Melody’ is part of my latest collection and can be seen on my ‘Affordable Art’ page.

It is the next in a series of beautiful sunsets in my semi-abstract style. I love the touches of orange, deep red and rusty tones in the sky and the touch of white shining through the clouds as the evening light takes hold.

I used a fine brush to create the touches of detail on the horizon and then added different colours to emulate the sunset creating shadows in the foreground.

There is a simplicity of colour in the limited palette.

‘Sunset Melody’ 22 × 21.5 cms

Quite often these smaller studies are created using leftover paint after finishing a larger canvas so sometimes I find it challenging but satisfying to use the limited palette and its surprising how many different tones can be made using very few colours.

This painting would brighten any large or small space in the home or office.
