Inspiration behind this painting

There is a specific moment at the end of the day when the world seems to go quiet or at least quieter and I always love seeing all the colours in the sky start changing. As the blue light fades these soft pink tones break through the sky bringing a sense of absolute calm. I am always drawn to the delicate glowing pinks that feather in and out of the clouds as the blues of the day start to disappear.

I wanted to experiment with the brushstrokes and the layers in this painting to make the sky feel alive and moving. I painted this canvas to capture that exact feeling of peace, creating a window of serene warm light that you can look at every single day no matter what is happening outside or in your life.
