A little studio view
I thought you might like to see glimpses of my studio to make it more personal……..
Here you can see various aspects of my studio, whether it’s an easel painting of a larger canvas or some of my small works on paper. I often take the time to frame the paintings, allowing me to gain a clearer perspective on whether I believe they are truly finished or if they might benefit from a final touch or two to bring them fully to life.
There is definitely something truly magical about completely submerging yourself in a large canvas. You kind of escape into the spirit of it and the particular emotional effect and atmosphere you’re trying to capture. This immersive experience allows you to connect deeply with the artwork, blurring the lines between artist and creation.
You can, in the same way, lose yourself in a smaller painting but it is just more spontaneous and intimate. You explore and experiment with brushstrokes on a detailed level, much like you do when working with different techniques on a larger canvas. With bigger works, you might use huge brushes or even various DIY tools—anything really—that help you move the paint around in unique and exciting ways. Both sizes offer their own freedom to create and discover new artistic possibilities.
If a studio view is something that you are particularly interested in seeing more of, please do let me know. I can easily make it a regular feature in my posts. Alternatively, if you prefer just catching occasional glimpses of the work on the easel, including larger canvases and close-up details, I’m happy to share those as well.
Your feedback will help me tailor the content to what you’d enjoy most.
You can view all of my paintings, both large and small, on my portfolio page. Additionally, I want to share that I am donating 10% of every sale to Alzheimer's research, in loving memory of my Mum who sadly passed away after a long battle with the disease.
