This painting ‘Everlasting Summer’ is from a new body of work focusing on recent skies in the morning and evening. I have always been drawn to the unique colours and moving light found at those specific times of day.

These smaller paintings often begin as ideas or studies for larger works, but quite frequently I also complete them at a smaller scale because I really enjoy working across a variety of sizes.

Each size offers the opportunity to capture different atmospheres and evoke distinct feelings, allowing a more intimate or expansive experience depending on the dimensions.

As you can see by this painting measures only 21 x 21 cm yet it still manages to contain a remarkable amount of light and atmosphere, capturing the serene feeling of that sunset with real depth. My smaller paintings often feature even more vivid colours, dynamic brushstrokes, and rich textures, all elements I truly enjoy incorporating.

These each contribute their own unique atmosphere, light, and impression of the landscape, making every piece a distinctive celebration of nature’s beauty.
