Introducing another from my series of sunset studies

This is ‘Sunset Embers’.

Acrylic on canvas board- 20 x 20 cms

This painting is part of my new series of small sunset studies and is carefully rendered in my semi-abstract style using acrylic on canvas. I really enjoyed the process of painting this small landscape as it seemed to flow effortlessly and to be honest came together surprisingly quickly. Whilst some of my paintings go through many stages before I feel satisfied, this particular piece evolved so naturally and speedily.

The subtle glimmer of light on the horizon is combined with delicate touches of orange brushstrokes and a few strokes of white capturing that fleeting impression of the last light in the sky.

The light blues and gentle hints of orange peeking through the clouds create a soothing and gradual colour transition. The harmonious blend of colours and atmosphere has inspired me to begin working on a larger canvas, exploring a similar composition with a broader scale and depth.

Look out for the next one…….
