My acrylic landscape painting for today is Hazy Sunset

‘Hazy Sunset’ - 26 × 26 cm - Acrylic on paper

‘Hazy Sunset’ is the landscape painting I have chosen for today. It has a lot of gorgeous orangey brown tones set at that misty time of year when the days are beginning to get a little cooler.

It is a painting from my archive but it is also one I refer to often as i always loved the colours and the bolder brushstrokes.

I love the touches of peachy orange tones and red brushstrokes on the horizon and the peach tones in the sky which pull the painting together.

The ochres and browns and burgundy in the sky give just the right atmosphere for a hazy sunset. There is just enough glow and light on the horizon with the dark, almost black shadows in the distance.

The light from the sky reflects down on to the foreground with the peach brushstrokes keeping that abstract feel that most of my small paintings on canvas and paper have.

The light gradually ascends into the sky as the day slowly disappears.

This painting would blend with any room colour and decor.
