New painting: Shrouded Clouds

Vibrant and beautiful……..

I’ve always loved this particular painting and I often find myself looking back at it for inspiration as I remember how effortlessly it seemed to come together. The colour combination is perfectly balanced and the way the light falls feels just right creating an harmonious effect.

It’s always so rewarding to revisit a piece where everything aligned so naturally offering a quiet reminder of those moments when creativity flows without struggle.

Even the subtle touch of off white beneath the deep burgundy on the horizon to the left seems to create the delicate impression of light gently breaking through on the horizon as the beautiful rich colours begin to emerge.

This transition marks the arrival of the evening light, softly replacing the fading daylight as it gradually disperses.

I feel there is just the right amount of colour variation to unmistakably evoke a sunset especially with the harmonious blend of soft creams, subtle greys, deep burgundy reds and the beautiful warm peachy tones that gently illuminate the scene.

This painting was created using only two different sized brushes. The smaller thinner brush was carefully employed to add intricate details on the horizon capturing all those gorgeous touches of yellow, vibrant orange, and delicate flecks of white that bring the scene to life. This was completed once the bigger brush was used to create a blended colourful background.
