Studio View Blog: Latest Artworks, News and Inspiration.
This Blog ‘Studio View’ is a regular update of my new work, upcoming exhibitions, some work in progress images and photographs of what inspires me to paint.
My work is all about the ever changing light in the landscape.
“Atmosphere is the sensation directed upon the viewer, whereas mood is the actual feeling provided”.
Stunning swirling colours and the warm tones of Evening Radiance
This is one of my impressionist sunset paintings and one of my largest at 102 x 76 cm, but it’s definitely a piece I really enjoyed creating.
I wanted to capture that dancing sky of endless sunsets, where colours appear at different times and rise upward, topped by a soft, glowing horizon.
A constantly moving scene.
Three beautiful atmospheric landscape paintings
These three atmospheric paintings share a similar warm colour palette yet each remains wholly unique, carrying its own story, mood and distinct visual elements.
They’re all inspired by winter sunsets capturing the shifting light and mood with rich colour, layered texture and subtle atmospheric depth.
Take a look and see which one would be your favourite……..
Paintings from the North Downs at different times of the year.
I love painting the North Downs because there’s always different light to capture through the changing seasons whether it’s in the sky with those gorgeous blue tones or in the subtle reflections in the foreground.
Everyday feels different, especially at certain times of year when the sun sits low or climbs high or struggles even to break through shifting clouds.
