Today’s affordable landscape painting is ‘Summer’s Kiss’ and it’s available on my website on the Affordable Art page.

There is a hint of a sunset in this painting with the glimmer of peachy tones in the sky and the light blues trying to stay but knowing they will soon fade away.

The sky is a bit more blended than my small paintings usually are as they tend to be more abstract with a lot more brushstrokes. I love the gorgeous warm tones on the horizon with the finer detail of lemon yellow and the smallest touch of orange just showing through.

This painting is similar in technique to my larger paintings. The colours in the sky just overlap into the foreground and the greens in the foreground rise up into the sky making it more atmospheric.

The beautiful colours of burgundy, orange and yellow plus the cream tones give a real glow to the horizon where the solid foreground gives a real focus on that light.
