Today’s beautiful painting is: Rising Clouds
‘Rising Clouds’ - 26 x 23 cm - Acrylic on canvas
I do like looking back at older paintings to find inspiration, and I especially appreciate this small abstract landscape painting because of the expressive freedom of the brushstrokes and the calm, peaceful feeling it evokes.
The way the colours blend together creates a profound sense of tranquility that resonates deeply with me. I love the bold, confident brushstrokes that stand out vividly on the horizon, as well as those just above it, where the soft interplay of light blue, creamy tones, and white adds a delicate yet dynamic contrast.
Additionally, the subtle touches of warm browns, earthy ochres, and gentle green hues bring an organic richness to the composition, enhancing its overall harmony and depth.
I find it such an easy and calming painting to look at, which is probably why I keep coming back to it time and time again. I suppose some paintings have a stronger effect on you than others, and often it can be quite difficult to pinpoint exactly why that is. Perhaps that’s the beauty of art. It remains deeply subjective and personal, touching each viewer in unique and unexpected ways.
